Our grandfather reportedly committed suicide in 1924 by a pistol shot to the head. There has always been suspicion within the family because of who found him, the setting, and several other questionable circumstances. Also, the police records are missing, and the coroner's files were destroyed in a basement flood in the 1950s.

We have often wondered if an autopsy had a possibility of being able to determine whether his was, in fact, a suicide or whether he was the victim of foul play.

Are there investigators or pathologists on here that could please comment on the likelihood that the remains, after some 86 years, could still offer evidence of the truth?

TIA
